Eric Wolpaw has left Valve
Eric Wolpaw is a writer from Valve who has worked on various big titles from the company such as Half-life, Portal 2 and Left 4 Dead.
He joined Valve in 2004 and before then he worked with Double-Fine where he co-wrote the popular Psychonauts game. Wolpaw is also working on the development of Psychonauts 2 which was crowdfunded in 2016.
Marc Laidlaw, a former Valve writer, was the first to reveal that Eric Wolpaw had left the company but Wolpaw later confirmed this on his Facebook page.
Wolpaw didn’t explain his decision to leave Valve. This could have something to do with Psychonauts 2 or the desire to create new games. While Valve hasn’t released any new games in recent years, the company is working on three full VR games. Last year there was a report claiming that he had left the company however it was revealed that he had just taken a day off work due to illness.
